KYMC America MidCentral (Mid-Web) Flexo Press:


New Approach for Mid-Web Markets

The New KYMC MidCentral (mid-web) flexo CI press has all the features and technology available in modern high speed wide web presses - but configured in a mid-web width for companies who want to expand into flexible packaging. Available in 8 and 10 colors, the press has been engineered to meet the challenges of shorter runs with the benefits of running at high speeds to handle longer runs profitablity. KYMC has not limited the adoption of current wide web technology into their machinery into the expansion of mid-web markets that until now have been limited to narrow web presses.

The mid-web press is available from 26.4" to 42" web widths utilizing water/solvent or UV/EB inks. This press allows for narrow web label companies to expand into the growing flexible packaging market for potential profit growth. This is the best approach for shrink sleeve and flexible packing within a similar footprint to in-line presses. Downstream units can also be configured for additional applications.

Most of the press components are either manufactured in the US or available through US subsidiaries such as Rexroth/Indramat and PLC programmable controls by Simens. The Euroflex complies fully with OSHA and CE standards.

Deck Positioning

Stablizing printing deck bars are solidly joined between either side of the solid frame design to additionally decrease vibration to a minimum for the most accurate registration at higher speeds.

Deck positioning is precise to 1 micron through direct coupling servo motors, with simultaneous sleeve changes of the print and anilox rollers including an automatic push out feature for quick change overs helpful for short runs. Motor cross bars are eliminated by the individual deck motors, AC servo, that directly connect to the ball screws via couplings.






Servo and Optional Direct Drive CI

Euroflex uses a optional Direct Drive Central Drum via torque motor from Rexroth/Indramat, for extreme precision to the direct AC servo drives (Indramat) on both the plate and anilox sleeve mandrels to guarantee the best print register tolerance during running.

Full servo drives on each print stations and are controlled through industrial network system, providing extreme accurate control on print registration and impression control.

Large diameter sleeve mandrels are used to insure vibration (bounce) free operation. Carbon fiber mandrels are available. The print sleeves will automatically push out on this press.


Zero Backlash

Zero backlash of deck position control for impression setting. Printing and anilox mandrel movement is achieved through high precision circulating ball type feeding screws, activated by four motors for each station.

Deck motors, AC servo, are directly connected to the ball screws by couplings. Supports of both printing and anilox air mandrels move on high precision linear guides. The liner guide is pre-loaded without any backlash, to avoid any lock-down needs. Anti-impact safety device is employed.

Automatic Pre-Register

The Euroflex uses both an automatic pre-register and setting system by Eltromat using the webvideo Star 2000 Modul fast flexo Profibus-interface for reduced waste.

Auto Impression Setting

The Euroflex uses both an automatic pre-register and auto impression setting system by integrating the Eltromat star 2000 system for reduced waste. The auto set technology automates the ink deck setting for plate and anilox rollers simultaneously, saving hundreds of feet of waste during press start up.

The final print position can be saved for repeat production. The drives will be activated for "Home searching" automatically after the saved print position is recalled.

Touch Screen Control

Central control and monitoring system with clear structured graphic for easy operation. Machine functions are PC based industrial network controlled, software in Windows platform, user friendly touch screen operation available in 5 different languages. Remote control consoles are placed on each side of the printing section for easy and convenient of operation. All the parameter setting on each console are automatically synchronized updating to the central data base.

The Euroflex comes standard with a modern enclosed CI printing cabinet/room for solvent vapor capture that complies with worldwide environmental requirements for minimum odor plan operation.

Dual High Efficiency Dryer

The dual circuit, dual zone drying system is standard on the press, providing, high drying capacity for both in-between colors, as well as the final oven. This is to help ensure there is complete ink drying during high speed production. For additional reduced energy costs, expent drying air can be recirculated with a slovent concentation monitor fitted in-line to ensure safe operation.

Electrical Cabinet

KYMC continues their commitment to maintain the highest up-time by enclosing the electrical into a cabinet located on the mezzanine deck with dedicated air-conditioned units.

In addition, spacious area has been allocated for easy maintenence and problem solving with numbered PLC cabling/corded networks. All wiring coply with CE regulation, electric components are supplied from reputable brand name European and Japanese suppliers.

Flying Splice Turret Unwind/Rewind

KYMC's turret flying splice unwind/rewind with European phantom axis compact design offers full speed splicing. The touch screen operation guarantees smooth splicing during reel change over. Tension controls on both unwind and rewind are fully automatic through PLC control.
