PLC/Mechanical Service Engineer

(Full or part-time Contractual)

Novaflex (www.novaflex-inc.com) is looking for either a full-time or contactual part-time service engineer with PLC electronics experience on printing or converting machinery. The ideal candidate would be installing and servicing mechanical and electronic systems on our flexo, offset, laminators, slitter/rewinders and bag/pouch machines.

Novaflex, Inc., headquartered in Chicagoland is celebrating it's 28th anniversary as a leader in both printing and flexible packaging (converting) machinery. We are the exclusive North American distributors of a complete portfolio of printing and equipment in North America. We seek a service member to represent and serve our five leading flexo, gravure, laminating, offset and converting machinery from Turkey, Spain and Taiwan manufacturers. We are seeking one of two options - an experienced electronics engineer with printing and converting equipment or a well-learned mechanical electronics graduate with a strong interest in a wide array of advanced printing and converting equipment. This is an excellent and important service/technician role in assisting the growth of our company.


Ideal Qualifications:

  • Preferably four or more years PLC electrical on mechanical service experience however PLC electronics graduates are welcome to apply
  • General understanding of web tension control on either printing or converting process
  • Proficient computer skills related to troubleshooting between PLC electrical and mechanical components
  • Ability to understand electrical schematics and (general) machinery CAD drawings in tandem with remote engineering teams
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical personnel to address their concerns and assure prompt resolution to the problem
  • Willingness to be trained on all manufacturer's equipment with and their engineers for servicing
  • Willingness to travel within the United States/Canada depending on service demand - generally during work week
  • General knowledge of flexo, laminating, offset and/or converting desirable
  • Dedicated problem solving work ethic within time-dependent, high production environments
  • Basic understanding of traditional electric and servo motors
  • Intent to continuously study today's manufacturing trends to educate our sales staff and benefit our customers
  • Effective written and follow-up communication skills with customer and post-service recap reports

Sales Agent - West Coast

Novaflex (www.novaflex-inc.com) is looking for a commission based sales representative on the west coast with experience in the flexo, offset, gravure, lamination, slitter/rewinder and bag/pouch industries.

Novaflex, Inc., headquartered in the Chicagoland area and celebrating it's 28th anniversary, is a recognized leader in both printing and flexible packaging (converting) machinery. We sell to the North American region state-of-the-art flexo, gravure, laminating, web offset and converting machinery from European and Asian manufacturers. Our sales representatives earn competitive sales commissions selling a wide range of modern equipment from five major equipment manufacturers.

Ideal Qualifications:

  • Preferably five or more years experience and knowledge in flexo, laminating, offset and/or converting industries
  • Ability to sell capitol equipment
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical customers the benefits of our equipment and answer general questions on production/manufacturing industry concerns
  • Willingness to be educated on all manufacturer's equipment
  • Transportaiton ability in traveling to customers along the west Coast of the United States/Canada
  • Dedicated problem solving work ethic within time-dependent, high production environments
  • Effective written and follow-up communication skills and revised proposals with potential customers with recap reports to Novaflex
  • Proficient PC and/or Mac computer skills in Microsoft office and other media presentation software
  • Experience with video conferencing software is a plus
